3 outstanding Fusion albums added today: MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA ~ BETWEEN NOTHINGNESS & ETERNITY 3rd album from 1973 and the last one by the original line-up. This live recording includes just 3 extended pieces (the longest being 21+ minutes), which of course gives ample space for the virtuosi players to expand their flashy abilities and establish the meaning of Fusion for generations to follow. Criticized at the time of its release as lacking musical direction, in retrospect this music proves yet again that it is much more lasting than any critic. WILLIAMS, TONY / LIFETIME ~ BELIEVE IT 5th album from 1975. After changing labels and regrouping (as well as changing the name to The New Tony Williams Lifetime), the quartet now featured another British guitar hero - Allan Holdsworth. This influenced the style and sound they produced to a more rocky feel, closer to the Fusion mainstream than the somewhat experimental sound of the original group with John McLaughlin. The music and the performances are absolutelly stunning and this album belongs to the timeless pantheon of Fusion! SANTANA ~ SANTANA (LEGACY EDITION) 1st album from 1969 by this sensational group led by guitarist Carlos Santana. Their elecrifying set at the Woodstock Festival brought them fame even before the debut album was released later in the year. The unique combination of latin rhythms, rock and jazzy improvisations made Santana one of the best and most successful groups in the 70`s and the music stands the test of time formidably. This beautiful edition includes the complete Woodstock performance as well as outtakes from the album session, which see the light of day here for the first time ever.
