Komeda`s genious as a composer comes to full fruition for the first time here and his quintet (with Zbigniew Namyslowski - as and Tomasz Stanko - tp) plays with virtuosity and heavenly inspiration. The music is visionary, years ahed of its time and beyond anything done in Jazz at that time on this side of the Atlantic. Absolutely essential! Polish Jazz Vol.5 STANKO, TOMASZ ~ MUSIC FOR K This album, recorded in 1970, is Stanko`s tribute to his mentor Krzysztof Komeda shortly after his tragic death. A stellar cast of polish virtuosos, including the violin genious Zbigniew Seifert, play some of the most advanced and intelligent music so characteristic of European jazz. This music gets better and better with time.
