לפני יומיים התוודעתי ללהקה המשוגעת apocalyptica מדובר בארבעה פינים(אם אני לא טועה, ואם כן אז זה לא רחוק משם) שלוקחים שירים של מטליקה ועושים להם עיבודים ללא פחות מארבעה צ'לוים. אומנם בכלל לא פרוגרסיב אבל שווה בדיוקה לפי דעתי.(אני מניח שרק מי שמכיר את השירים של מטליקה באמת יהנה, אבל שוב מי יודע)

רעיון מעניין, אני חייבת להודות

הם נשמעים קצת פחות מעניין, אבל נחמד להכיר. אגב הם עושים עיבודים לא רק למטאליקה, יש להם אלבום אחד רק עם גרסאות כיסוי למטאליקה (Plays Metallica by Four Cellos) אבל באלבומים אחרים הם ביצעו קטעים של פנטרה, ספולטורה ו Faith No More.

ואם מישהו רוצה לישמוע על עוד משהו מוזר שעשו למטאליקה אומנם לא פרוגרסיב כל כך זה דיסק של גירסאות אינדוסטריאל לשירים שלהם והוא ניקרא the bkckest albumגם מעניין. ואים כברר עיבודים מוזרים אז הרכב גרמני בשם laibach עשו עיבודים מחודשים לכל הדיסק של הbeatles -Let it be מאוד הזוי ורשע . ושכחתי לציין ששמעתי מזמן כמה שירים מהדיסק של אפוקליפטיקה ונישמע ממש טוב .

5 items added today: FISH ~ FELLINI DAYS 6th solo album from 2001 and a tribute to his favorite director Frederico Fellini. This is a concept album based around Fellini`s movies and probably the most serious work done by Fish since leaving Marillion in 1988. Some great melodies and very complex lyrics. Fish is accompanied by his (more or less) regular group and his voice is in excellent form. Definitely an album worth investigating in depth. BRUFORD, BILL/EARTHWORKS ~ RANDOM ACTS OF HAPPINESS Long awaited new album by one of the greatest jazz quartets today. Recorded live in 2003 it also introduces a new member - Tim Garland (reeds), who replaced Patrick Clahar. This release also marks the debut of Bruford`s own label. As to the music - well not much to be added to the compliments already bestowed on this group. Just grab it in plunge into the music ASAP - satisfaction guaranteed! SOFT MACHINE ~ SOMEWHERE IN SOHO Recorded live at the Ronnie Scott`s Jazz Club (in London`s Soho) in 1970, this album features the most revered SM line-up (Ratledge, Hopper, Wyatt & Dean) around the Third and Fourth albums. The cleanded-up and remastered material offers a surprisingly decent sound and the music is of course outstanding. Although there are plenty of SM live recordings around, this is a worthy addition to any fan`s collection. MOTHER GONG ~ TREE IN FISH 1991 album by Mother Gong, which includes some studio and some live recordings from their 1991 US Tour. Gilli Smyth is accompanied by a group of excellent musicians, including Harry Williamson and Robert Calvert. She creates the usual `unusual` mixture of poetry and sound, utilizing her unique voice to the max. This album was not available for a long time and now finally it`s back to many fans` delight. GONG ~ ACID MOTHERHOOD Long awaited new album from 2004 by completely new and re-vamped Gong line-up featuring no less then three guitar players and no wind instruments. Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth (on 1 track only) lead a wild bunch of musicians to another uncharted waters, with completely new sound resembling nothing familiar. The music is more agressive and disonant, but always challenging and surprising, as proper for Gong. 5 items added today: IQ ~ DARK MATTER 13th album from 2004. After almost 4 years of anticipation, IQ fans can rejoyce again! The new albums fulfills all expectations and beyond, with the usual mastery. Despite the darkish atmosphere, the music flows beautifully and the vocals, expressive as always, are dramatic and moving. The production and the playing is amazing from the first note to the last and even the packaging is top notch. Great stuff! COS ~ POSTAEOLIAN TRAIN ROBBERY 1st album from 1974 by this brilliant group from Belgium, which is often called `Belgian Zao`, due to their close connections to the French group as well as their almost parallel stylistic trend. This is European Prog at its best with strong jazz influence and alternative approach, same as many other Zeuhl & RIO artists. Time only emphesizes how good this music was when recorded and how well it keeps. LA TULIPE NOIRE ~ SHATTERED IMAGE 2nd album from 1999 by this Greek group. Very good symphonic Prog, obviously influenced by the classic pioneers of the genre as well as neo-prog masters (Marillion). Female lead vocals and great instrumental performances by the group members make this album a most welcome addition to the Prog collection, especially in view of the fact that there is unfortunately so little Prog produced in their country. KENSO ~ IN THE WEST Live radio broadcast recorded in 1997 by this excellent Japanese instrumental Prog outfit. Very jazz influenced and blessed by the presence of virtuoso players, they play some of the most exciting sounds in the almost fusiony (Brand X) style, with clear Canterbury influences. This recording summarizes well their earlier recordings and is an excellent introduction to the group`s wonder. KENSO ~ ESOPTRON 1999 studio album after almost 8 years with no new releases by this brilliant Japanes instrumental Prog group. The quintet - two keyboards players - soars through their material like a hurricane, often referrad as `Led Zeppelin playing Weather Report (or vice versa)`. This is amazing stuff and any fusion / Caterbury fan will find his elements here. A masterpiece! ===================== Many items back in stock! ===================== Have Fun!
