im taking coumadin

which is a madicin that is suppose to make my blood thin. i have to be tested regulary and latly my tests wernt good. does anyone know if coumadin can just stop affecting? kat

How are you? My advice is to seek medical attention urgently. Do you know what is ur INR value? If you do, please report it. In addition, the effect of Coumadin can be inhibited by consuming vegetables rich in vitamine K (such as green leaves, etc. ) Have you recently consumed large quantities of vegetables? i know all this ...

my lats two test were 1.8 and 1.4 and im suppose to have 2.5 to 3.3, im going to a doctor once a week and the last week wasnt any differant from any other. i dont eat vegetables... the thing is that im in the US, we just moved here not to long ago and i even started to think that the testing system is differant here. can it be? kat oh, and im already taking a preatty large dose of coumadin, 5mg two days and 3mg one day, and then two days of 5 again... oh (2), the doctor that is treating me is a family doctor and i feel like i know more about what i have than him...

are you taking other medications? coumadin has interactions with many medications. you are more than welcome to inform me on other medication you are taking or medications you have recently started to take. In addition, you can ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist or to coagulation clinica, as this matter quite important. Your condition seems something that must not be neglected, so you MUST ask your physician to refer you to a specialist. Hope you get well with the desired INR values Kobi
