why not attaché, while you're at it
Aftermath can be used for the "side-effects" meaning of נספח, as in "כנספח למלחמה, פרצו רעב ומחלות במדינה", but not really for anything in a book . Aftermath simply means "what happened after" (and usually as a result of) something.
