Ok, I have a great game. well, I hope it's great. i have afew games in ming, we'll start with this one and see how it goes. so I'm going to thread a list of uncommon/hard words. If you know what one of them means, thread the answer. the point of this game is to improve everybody's vocabulary. If after a few days there are some words that nobody knows, I'll thread the answer. deal? lets go!​

May I say something about your game ?

My English is far from perfect but it seems to me that most of the words that you chose won't be easy even on native speakers English is a HUGE language and contains a lot of words from different ages. A lot of these words are not in use by most of the people today and sometimes being used only in "high" literature (something like trying to read the israeli poet Bialik...pretty useless trying to understand the weird words in Hebrew that he is using because you don't really need these words these days) I don't see any point in learning rare and weird words that the next time I'm going to see them will be in 10 years from now(and even this case is a long shot...) What would be more fun in my opinion will be to try and play a little bit with slang words There's a lot of words and idioms that are being used by natives that you won't be able to find in the dictionary Could be interesting playing with them a little

i agree with you

at least partially. /Like you commented before, you can hear at least one word in movies all the time. There's at least one other word that I knew, and my teacher uses a lot. the point wasn't trying to fail you guys, it was to try to expend your vocab

I'll give the definition to all of them in a day or so, and you'll see that some are pretty useful. But i do agree, I chose pretty hard words, and I will add some easier once i get some answers

. My problem with slang is that it is not very..useful in the academic world. I think we have a lot of exposure to slang (on tv and such). but i might add idioms. they're very fun and useful. I have more games in mind, some of them are easier. ok, so I'll wait about a day and if no one knows the answers, I'll add them.
