forceful let down ?
My daughter is 19 days old. She was born 4.3 kg, went down to 4.0 at 2 days and at 12 days old she was 4.6 kg, so she's gained quite fast. I have a 3 year old who since the birth has been nursing a lot, despite almost weaning completely during the pregnancy. The baby is very gassy and colicy. When she nurses, when I feel my milk let down, she pulls off the breast and cries. Once the let down is over, i can usually get her to latch on again. Could it be that my older child is causing a more forceful let down than I'd have otherwise (I didn't have problems like this when breastfeeding her)? Could this be why the baby is so gassy? Can I do anything to make it easier for her? Thank you for any advice!
