FETHIYE
Fethiye new marina is an enclosed floating pontoon type "breakwater" and piers. Very nicely and neatly made in the area of the old yacht wharf. However it`s expensive. So , not too many yachts are going in. The anchorage grounds to the west is full of yachts, and the magnificent bay , Fethiye Liman, is getting more beautifull by the shades and silluets of the many boats and water crafts at anchor, especially at dawn and dusk. We have found a nice spot near the marina "Yeni Yat Hotel" pier which extends the hotel services of swimming pool and upholstered sun chairs apart from the usual marina services at a cheaper cost. Fethiye Liman is to my opinion one of the most splendid spots along the Turkish Coast and probably the safest one, as an anchorge area. The town's market is a lively spot of oriental smells mixed with the smell of the fish, either fresh or fried in the tavernas around, specialized in the system of cook your own fish, for a minimal cost. Tomorrow we are planning to sail to one of the bays around and on Sunday, back to Gocek, where this part of the venture is terminated. As far as the weather it seems that we are going to have a good one for the coming week in the area of Fethiye/Marmaris/Bodrum. Inshalla, so said the Shah. Will emerge again when the intenet will be at hand.
