Donell Jones is a soulful brotha with a penchant for romance… Donell Jones is a self-contained artist and a master on the subject of love. His third album, "Life Goes On," introduces an arsenal of intimate song lyrics and shows the once shy songwriter emerging as a vocalist. "Without a doubt, this album is better than my first two," the soft-spoken performer states matter-of-factly. "I took a chance on experimenting with different musical sounds this time around," he says of his use of strings and the live percussion. "Life Goes On" delves into the emotional complexities of being in a relationship, as Jones questions his lover’s commitment in the buoyant track "Still." On the album’s first single, "You Know That I Love You," Jones pledges his eternal love to his special lady. Jones takes it into the bedroom next with his sweet and seductive "Do U Wanna," setting the mood for an evening of scented candles, chilled wine and lovemaking. "Love inspires me," admits Donell. With musical influences ranging from Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder to Babyface, one can see why. "There are so many different sides to it. There’s the love that you have for a friend, for your kids and for the love of your life. Love keeps me thinking about the possibilities." And Jones has always been a man who focuses on the possibilities. He was discovered by Untouchables Entertainment President Eddie F (a former member of the group Heavy D. & The Boyz) in 1993 and signed to Atlanta-based Laface Records within the next month. "He’s one of the most melodic singers out there," Eddie F recalls. A doting father of two daughters, Jones, who lives with his long-time girlfriend, says his biggest challenge is to help change people´s negative perceptions about love and relationships through his music. "Life Goes On" accomplishes this brilliantly. "I write about love and real situations because we’re all affected by some of the same issues," he explains. "After all, even after I’m gone, love is still going to be here."
