diving in Catalina
SHALOM SHALOM Yesterday I went on a diving boat off Catalina Island Three dives + Air + weights + snaks + drinks + lunch = 90$ not cheep, but ... anything for a bit of N bubbles. On the first dive, the DM said that shaks were seen here, but they "run" away from divers. Well - they don´t !!!! Because of the calp forest (sea weed) diving is like going in thik woods. My buddy and I past some calp and found our selfs in a circle of 8-10 sharks !!! BIG ones. They are called Soupfin Sharks. The second dive was exciting too when a munster Sea Bass past by me It is 1.5m on 1.0m more or less. This fish can get up to 3.0m !! On the third dive a Garibaldi tryed pulling on my hair - and looked very angery when he found out that it is attached to me. It was a very good diving day, and most recommended for those who come to California. Catalina is an island 60min. away from San Pedro harbor by ferry or 15min. by helicopter I found this web page with pictures of the animals you can see when diving here there are alot of pictures... you don´t have to look at them all. pic. 4 - a calp forest pic. 10 - Giant spined star fish pic. 11 - Lobster pic. 53,59 - Garbiladi pic. 72 - California moray eel pic. 73 - Giant crab pic. 105 - a seal (I saw some on other dives here so the web page is: http://diver.net/paulette I hope it works - it not, try adding -k8 in the end. enjoy the pictures see you soon Denna
