סופרת בריטית ידועה מאוד. בין יצירותיה: Pride and prejudice, Sense and Sensability ו- Emma. לטעמי הספרים שלה לא משהו, ג'ורג' אליוט היא לא, אבל נחמד לקרוא אותה ולו רק בגלל האנגלית היפה שהיא משתמשת בה (אנגלית של המאה ה- 18). הספר הגדול שלה הוא "גאווה ודעה קדומה", שנראה לי מבטא את כל התסכולים שלה מזה שהיא לא יכולה למצוא חתן נורמלי: It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good furtune, must be in want of a wife.

London Museums
Tal, For every collector - memmber of this forum- there is a museum in London or around London to cater for their needs/interest. it is amazing, isn't it? There is a collector of old cameras- lots of those on display in many museums and shops. There are weekend fairs and seasonal fairs for every sort and type of collector. The Museum of childhood at Bethnal Green would be great for those who are interested in toys/dolls. There are some of those in the Vic & Albert museum There are many brewers who keep museums [even in London- by appointment only] for our beer mat collector I have commented before on antiques [Bermondsey Sq on Fri morming] and the various stamp fairs, not to mention the stamp collection at the British Library. and of course do not forget the world famous british library for the rare and first edition books. In short, the list - and facilities - in London is endless... regards Yoram
