Can u help me?

I have some english homework and there is a question where i need to compere things that two writers wrote. i understood the first one but the second one isnt clear to me. can u help? the statment is by Sinclair Lewis and he wrote it in a letter declining the pulitzer prize: "Every compultion is put apon writers to become safe, polite, obedient, and sterile. In protest, i declined election to the National Instetute of Arts and Letters some years ago, and now i must decline the pulitzer prize." the question is: is he saying that writers should be all those things he sayed or nor. thanx. kat

בכל זאת ניסיתי לתרגם , וזה מה שיצא: "כל כפייה שמוטלת על יוצרים מטרתה להפוך אותם לבטוחים, צייתנים וסטריליים. במחאה על כך, דחיתי את בחירתי למכון הלאומי לאומנות וציינתי זאת כבר לפני כמה שנים , וכעת אני חייב לדחות את פרס הפוליצר." וכעת לשאלה:האם הוא אומר שיוצרים אמורים להיות כל הדברים שצוינו דלעיל?! טוב נו, כנראה שלא

well i cant spell

i will live with this, i hope... thanx for the help, i got it after typing this stupid thing. and after being here for two months, i dont think that my english is that bad... it was actually the best in my class in israel. and i do think u got what i ment and just wanted to make me feel bad, nice of u.... but it didnt really work... i can spell in rusiian too, but i can write. and i spell perfectly in hebrew. kat
