Before getting a divorce

My friend is married and has two beautiful children 6 and 2 years old her marriage seem to be coming to an end... her husband is making plans to leave Israel so that he doesn't have to pay "mezonot what are my friend's options now BEFORE he leaves the country? I should mention that they still live together and they didn't file for divorce in the Rabanut. Toda .
