Sami tells stunned Austin that she wants him to move out; if he can’t commit to her, she has to forget about loving him and move on with her life. Austin realizes Sami is right; time is flying by and they’re not getting any younger. Sami’s ploy seems to be working as Austin says he does want to be with Sami. Austin makes a very romantic marriage proposal.

Kate visits Lucas and Carrie and is floored by the news that Carrie is pregnant. She’s very happy for them. Kate is upset however, when she hears that Austin is with Sami and that Sami is trying to get Austin to propose. Carrie is upset because she still thinks Austin and Sami belong together. Kate says: over her dead body! Lucas has to mediate. Sami and Austin come downstairs; Sami is delighted as Austin toasts his new fiancיe in front of everyone. Kate is floored.

Mimi and Shawn, Chelsea and Max get ready to go to Victor’s birthday party. Chelsea begs Mimi to work on Shawn… try to get him not to testify against Chelsea at her trial. Mimi says she’ll see what she can do. Chelsea knows she’s made terrible mistakes and she wants to make up for them. Mimi, thinking about lying to Shawn about Claire’s paternity, says she has done terrible things and kept secrets, too, and hopes she won’t be punished. Chelsea discerns that Mimi has a secret and if she could only find out what it is, it might help her muzzle Shawn. Chelsea will do whatever it takes to stay out of jail… even if it means hurting Shawn and Mimi!

Grandpa Shawn and Caroline prepare the pub for Victor’s party. Victor arrives and is surprised by the gesture. Mimi, Shawn, Philip, Max, and Chelsea come to help celebrate. Victor secretly makes a birthday wish that he will be with Caroline. In talking to Chelsea, Victor lets slip that he’s concerned about Claire’s situation. He covers his slip but Chelsea doesn’t buy it and suspects something is amiss.

Frankie and Jennifer also get engaged; Jennifer is comforted by the fact that this is what Jack wanted. Frankie gently points out that it has to be Jennifer’s decision alone; she can’t be doing this for Jack’s sake. Jennifer says she does love Frankie and she wants to spend the rest of her life with him. Caroline, Grandpa Shawn and the Brady family celebrate the news

Jack is at death’s door but the doctor thinks there is a chance his life could be saved by a special procedure. Jack doesn’t believe it is possible and wants to stick with his plan to die alone. Jennifer must be with Frankie now and she deserves to be happy.
