Whatever.

I don't come to a forum and randomly post my question without paying any regard to the rules, especially when they are in the title.

this is my first time in this forum

Let me start by saying I don't have any intention to offend you or pass judgement on you as I am clearly unfamiliar with this forum's current nature, participants or its past. However, it is certainly not as welcoming as I had expected it to be. In fact, it's rather intimidating. Going over the first page of this forum, I found most of your posts to be very condescending. It's not just the Hebrew posts I'm talking about, but your entire attitude towards other members of this forum. Speaking of the Hebrew posts, why don't you just ignore them and wait for them to be deleted? If you choose to reply, surely there is a nicer way to do so. Again, this isn't a criticism for the sake of criticizing but merely a suggestion from a newcomer with an unbiased point of view. Hope you take this into consideration.

Okay.

I looked through the first page of the forum, and the few posts of mine that I found are 90% replies to people who decided to ignore the forum rules, and 10% an actual reply to an actual thread - which is very rare here. If people really did want to come to a friendly enviornment, they would have paid attention to the rules and abided them. But no - people come here to ask their questions, whether it be translating questions (against the rules, since we cannot reply in Hebrew) or questions in Hebrew - and they leave. Nobody stays here for the sake of conversation, because any person who comes here for that purpose, sees a page full of "what does this or that mean" or "can you please translate this text for me? thank you!". Translating is a proper job, which people get paid for. The regulars of #740 are not forced into this - they do it voluntarily. That's why we ask for at least the little bit of respect, which we do not get. I can't even imagine how annoying it is for the moderator of the forum to delete countless posts that are against the rules - when the rules are specified in the title! It's only one rule - is it that difficult to follow? I know that I'm repeating myself, but I'm just so sick and tired of this. I know that sounds condescending to you, but it really isn't meant to be. If you were a regular of a forum that you loved the idea of, you'd be angry about this too. You also wouldn't have come here and criticized me without even wondering for the reason of my behavior. I know you said you weren't criticizing - but who are we kidding? You were. But that's okay, because I can stand criticism. I promise to play nice, but that's only if other people decide to do the same - which hopefully will happen soon. At any case, if you decide to stay in our forum, pay close attention to what happens. You'll understand soon.

Yes, it was criticism

... accompanied by a very big reservation. You don't have to explain the purpose of this forum to me, I understand it very well. That was actually the reason I came here -- to participate in everyday conversations ... in the English language. You're preaching to the choir here, I can easily see why you would be frustrated by continued random visits of people who don't have any intention to stay here. But while taking your frustration out at them, you're also alienating people who might want to stay. I didn't come here asking you to answer their questions or discuss with them in Hebrew, I tried suggesting that you concentrate on the actual meaning of the forum. You said it yourself, only 10% of your posts are "actual" posts. And yes, I did say that you can try to be nicer - maybe those random visitors just happen to be people who made an honest mistake and would be able to make a great contribution to the forum in one way or another. I will definitely try to stick around, but as you can see, there are barely any topics I can participate in that don't belong to the sole topic of "forum rules."

And the only reason

there are none of said topics, is because they all get pushed down by advertisments and questions that aren't within the forum's rules.
