היי.. הגיע הזמן לעשות כבוד לאחת הלהקות הגדולות בשמונים , וללא ספק בין הלהקות הגדולות מאוסטרליה. הלהקה שהביאה לנו להיטים כמו: "Down under" ו-"Who can it be now?" ועוד הרבה להיטים טובים (אך לא תמיד מוכרים) השבוע אנו מדברים על להקת : MEN AT WORK אתם מוזמנים להעלות שירים,תמונות, וכל מידע על הלהקה לפורום.

איזה טעות........

לאור ריבוי השירים ששמתם פה בפורום של הגברים בעבודה לקח לי כמה שעות טובות לחפש שיר שעוד לא שמתם. מצאתי. IT'S A MISTAKE הסינגל הרביעי של הגברים מ 1983.

זה בגלל המאמץ יתר

שיר חביב שמת, ידידי. זכורתני הקליפ בו הסולן קולין היי היה מין גנרל שמתעסק בהזזת חיילי צעצוע על המפה ומתרגז על הסגנים שלו או מי שאלה לא היו וכולם רבים עם כולם. השיר עצמו מדבר על כל אותם גנרלים שב"טעות" מוחקים כמה כפרים/ערים/אנשים וככה בשביל הכיף מתחילים מלחמת עולם. הסינגל שקדם לו היה Overkill, שתורגם ע"י בני דוד-שמש ל"מאמץ יתר" במצעד של רשת ג' ושיצא בדיוק לפני 20 שנה, בקיץ 83. בקליפ הזה נראה מר היי יושב מיוזע ונוירוטי בכורסא אחרי עוד יום עמוס בפאניקה וחרדות בעבודה. אפשר למצוא קווים מקבילים בין ה"עלילה" בשיר הזה לבין הטקסט ב-who can it be now, שמדבר על פראנויות ושאר בעיות נפשיות חינניות אחרות.

איזה טעות 2!!

אלפא, בדיוק רציתי לשים את השיר "It's a mistake " , גנבת לי את הרעיון!!! וחומזה..עוד לא שמו את הגדולים שלהם "Who can it be now" ו-"Down under" אתם תמיד משאירים לי את שירי המיינסטרים שכולם חרשו?? לא פייר!!!

אנ יזוכר שכילד תמיד צחקתי על הסולן בשיר, שהעיניים שלו פזלו אחת לשניה בכל פעם שהוא שר את הפזמון. רק כשהתבגרתי הבנתי שלא יפה לצחוק על פוזלים.

Who can it be now , נדמה לי מהאלבום הראשון של Business As Usual מ-1982 . הייתכן שהוא יצא ב-1981 באוסטרליה וב-1982 הופץ לאחר מכן לעולם??

ללא ספק , אחת מהלהקות האוסטרליות המצליחות ביותר בכל הזמנים. הלהקה הזאת אמנם הוציאה רק 3 אלבומים, אבל היא הטביעה את חותמה על מוזיקת האייטיז. להיטיה הצליחו מעל ומעבר במיצעדי הפיזמונים, ואלבומם הראשון משנת 1982 Business As Usual שבר את כל השיאים בקטיגורית האלבום שצעד בפיסגת המיצעד האמריקני למשך שבועות רבים. הרבה הומור ליווה את הוידאוקליפים שלהם, וכמובן מוזיקה קיצבית טובה מלווה מכל הבא ליד ( גם סקסופון וחליל ). Colin Hay סולן הלהקה היתה אחת מהדמויות הכי מצחיקות שנראו בקליפים של שנות ה- 80 . בראש ובראשונה אי אפשר לשכוח את העיניים הפוזלות שלו בקליפ של Who Can It Be Now , ואת הדמות ההיתולית והמפוזרת שהוא מגלם בקליפ של Down Under . דמות מיוחדת במינה. Men At Work הוציאו 4 להיטים גדולים אשר כבר צויינו כאן. Who Can It Be Now ו- Down Under מ 1982, Overkill ו- It's A Mistake מ 1983 . הכוונה במילים Down Under למי שלא יודע היא לאוסטרליה כמובן. זאת לא הלהקה האוסטרלית היחידה שמצהירה בשיר מפורשות על כך שהיא מגיעה מן הארץ הדרומית הגדולה ( אוסטרליה ) . כך עשתה גם להקת Icehouse שארחיב עליה את הדיבור בהזדמנות אחרת ( להקה פשוט גדולה ! ) . לאחר שהוציאה את האלבום השלישי בשנת 1985 , התפרקה להקת "גברים בעבודה" והגיעה למעשה לסוף דרכה כלהקה. היחיד שהמשיך ממנה בקריירה מוזיקלית היה הסולן Colin Hay . 2 אלבומי הסולו שהוציא בארה"ב נחלו כישלון, אבל בשנות ה- 90 הוא המשיך להוציא אלבומים במולדתו אוסטרליה, ואף לא בחל בקריירת מישחק ( כן כן, הוא גם שיחק בקולנוע ). ואסיים במשהו קצת אקטואלי. החל מ- 10 ביולי 2003 יערוך מיודענו Colin Hay סיבוב הופעות ארוך למשך חודשיים בכל רחבי ארה"ב. אז אולי להקת "גברים בעבודה" שייכת להיסטוריה, אבל סולנה לפחות ממשיך לשיר ולהופיע ואני משוכנע באמת ובתמים שהוא מנציח בהופעותיו גם את שירי להקתו שבזכותם הוא הפך לזמר מפורסם ומצליח.

הרשה לי לתקן אותך עובי

רשמת שגברים בעבודה התפרקו באלבומם השלישי Two hearts, לא מדויק ב-98 היי ניסה להחיות את הקבוצה והחזיר את Greg Ham הסקספוניסט והקיבורדיסט לקבוצה ושיחררו את "Brasil" שהוא תיעוד מסע ההופעות של הקבוצה בברזיל ב-1996 ואף שיחררו שיר חדש לאלבום בשם "The Longest Night". וד"א השנה יצאו Cargo ו-Business as usuall במהדורות מיוחדות עם שירי בונוס (נשמע מפתה) כדאי למי שיש כסף!!

מקבל את הערתך. קיפחתי את Greg Ham הסקסופוניסט והקיבורדיסט ועימו הסליחה . האינפומציה על האלבום Brazil משנת 1996 כעת משלימה את התמונה. אכן שמתי לב לכך ששני האלבומים הראשונים של "גברים בעבודה" יצאו במהדורות חדשות עם שירי בונוס נוספים וגם כמה גירסאות חיות אבל זה כמו שאתה אומר כנראה באמת בשביל כאלו שיכולים להרשות לעצמם

ואם כבר הגענו ל- 2003, הרי שיצא אוסף נוסף ( הרביעי במספר כמדומני ) של Men At Work ובו מיטב הלהיטים. האוסף החדש הזה נקרא The Essential Men At Work ויצא כאמור השנה.
