reason why the doctor told you to wait three months: was your wife pregnant before (and had abnormalities?) if it's your first time, do you have abnormalities related to lack of folic acid in your families? If you have and you told this to the doctor than there is a good reason to take folic acid three months in advance. If not and all is normal than you can do what suggested here: start trying for a baby! good luck, mom of Ophrie
