שאלה קצת אחרת

אולי מישהו/י פה נמצא באותה סיטואציה. אני יודעת אנגלית ברמה גבוהה. אבל, כשאני רואה סרט באנגלית אני לא מבינה את כל מה שאומרים. בנוסף, כשאני משוחחת באנגלית עם מישהו, לא תמיד מה שאני אומרת נכון דיקדוקית. לסיכום, יש לי אנגלית טובה מאד אבל ממש אי אפשר לומר שהיא מושלמת. ההתלבטות שלי היא כזו. בקרוב אהיה אמא ואני מתלבטת האם כדאי יהיה לדבר עם התינוק שלי באנגלית (כאמור, אנגלית עם טעויות מדי פעם) או שאולי כדאי להמתין עם זה ושהילד שלי ילמד לדבר אנגלית כמו שצריך באמצעות מורה לאנגלית. מה כדאי? תודה

How's your accent?

I'm a big proponent of bilingualism. But I think the most important part of speaking English to very young children is to give them the right accent. Grammar and vocabulary they will eventually get in school and from books/TV/Internet, but a good accent is hard to acquire past a certain age. So, if your accent is good, I think you should speak English to your baby. But if it isn't, don't bother.
