The popular actress Nicole Kidman will star in a Turkish film next year. Kidman, who signed a pre-agreement for the film, will come to Turkey next February. This will be the first full-length feature from Turkish movie director, Veli Celik. Many anticipate that it will be the most expensive to date. Kidman, who has won an Oscar for Best Actress, is known for her courageous choice in roles that depict unique characters such as Virginia Woolf. This time she will play a young Turkish girl who falls in love with a man. The director and owner of the project, Celik, popular for his soap operas, talks about how he offered the film to Kidman: "We mentioned the film when we contacted her. She was interested in the story. Then we sent the script, written by Ahmet Yurdakul, and she liked it. As soon as we agreed on the price, we signed a principal agreement last February. The cast and the name of the film have not been decided." The shooting in Istanbul is planned to begin in February 2005. Celik pointed out that the film is different than others and continues, "The film tells about a love story that takes place in 1940s in Istanbul".
