אאאאפצ'י!!!!!!!

אני הייתי עסוקה מאוד בזמן האחרון אז לא יצא לי כ"כ להכנס... אחרי זמן רב סוף סוף מצאתי עבודה במשרה מלאה (במוזיאון מלבורן!!!!) וגם בדיוק חגגנו 3 שנים ביחד... א-ב-ל... הרעיון של "טורים" נראה לי רעיון טוב. גם פתיחת נושאים חדשים - כי זה הבעיה בעצם - זה כמו מעגל - אין כלום כי אף אחד לא מתחיל כלום ואף אחד לא מתחיל כלום כי אין כלום. וסליחה על כ"כ הרבה שלילה כפולה (ככה אומרים DOUBLE NEGATIVE?) אני כן חושבת שהכל יכול לעבוד ושאנחנו פשוט עצלנים.

so I will answer, but it is not realy interesting. Goor (that's the way he writes his name) is "community manager" in GoGay. what does itmean - only he knows as he invented this job for himself. Anyway, one shiny day he decided to close the gays abroad forum of gogay as "it is not interesting, people there heve nothing in common, and it's a closed community which gogay shouldn't tolarate" (don't try to follow the reasoning - it is full of paradoxes, and this is only the start of it). in anycase, we were throwen out. this is how and why we got here... capish ?!

I am sorry I am using English sometimes - it's not my mother tounge I have spelling and other mistakes. but using the virtual keyboard is one of the most annoying things in the world and blind writing takes me ages... so I prefer writing in English so you'll understand, I can always write id Dutch

Gogay is a very nice gay portal I find, they have some very good people and ideas there with a lot of interesting stuff to read (for me anyway. Nevertheless, like everything in this world, it is not perfect, and there are some problematic figuers there. I am really sorry it ended like that with them but as I said before - it is not that interesting and we should concern ourselves on this forum and not on history...​

בבקשה, בוא נדבר.

ברור שאין לי בעיה לכתוב ולקרוא באנגלית. הבעיה שלי היא עם קריאת וכתיבת אנגלית בתפוז. מדובר באתר שכל הממשק שלו בעברית ("הודעה", "תגובה", תאריך", "קהילה"...). גם רוב ההודעות בו הן בעברית. מבחינתי האישית, מאד מאד לא נח לקרוא את כותרות ההודעות בשרשורים שנמצאות מצד ימין, ואז לזרוק את העיניים שמאלה כי הודעות באנגלית מתחילות משם דווקא. קושי לכאורה קטן, קטנוני אפילו, אבל בעיני זה קושי מאד אמיתי ומעצבן. לקושי הזה מצטרף גם ההכרח לעשות את הסוויץ' המנטלי מעברית לאנגלית בשרשורים שבהם שפת הודעה אחת שונה ממשנה. זה פשוט מרגיז. בפורומים אחרים (פעילים יותר) בתפוז אני מרשה לעצמי פשוט לא לקרוא את ההודעות באנגלית, כי זה מרגיז מדי. ואין פה כל סתירה עם זה שבעבודה (וגם בזמני הפנוי) אני קורא וכותב באנגלית כל הזמן. אפילו עכשיו, כשאני רוצה להתייחס בתגובה שלי למה שכתבת, מפריע לי שאני צריך לקרוא שתי שורות בעברית בתגובה שלי, ואז, חמישה סנטימטר למעלה, לקרוא שורות באנגלית בהודעה שלך כדי לראות שהתייחסתי לכל הנקודות שלך. מעיק, בחיי. לגבי המקלדת - נו... אפשר לקנות מדבקות של אותיות בעברית בסכומים מצחיקים. אם אתם לא מוצאים אותן בהולנד אפשר להזמין באינטרנט. וזה מזכיר לי, שלפני שקיבלתי את המחשב הנוכחי שלי מהעבודה (לפטופ עם עברית צרובה) היה לי רק המחשב הפרטי שלי (לפטופ עם מקלדת אנגלית). הייתי אז מצ'וטט די הרבה, ובעברית. אז בהתחלה באמת לקח לי המון המון זמן להקליד בעברית בצ'אט, אבל די מהר (ולא מדובר על חודשים...) התחלתי להקליד מספיק מהר. לא מהר כמו אנגלית, אבל כמעט מהר כמו מי שיש לו עברית על המקלדת. כך שזה ענין שעם קצת רצון מתגברים עליו בקלות - במיוחד שפה מדובר בפורום ולא בצ'אט דינמי. אני גם חושב שברמה העקרונית יש פה ענין של נימוס. יכול להכנס לפורום הזה גם הומו בן 18 שהאנגלית שלו פחות טובה משלנו ולשאול שאלות - והוא לא מצפה לקבל תשובות באנגלית - ובצדק. נושא האנגלית כבר עלה גם בפורום ישראלים בחו"ל ורוב מוחלט של המשתתפים מתנגדים לזה (ורוב מוחלט של המשתתפים שם גרים בארה"ב ככה שזה לא נובע מבעית שליטה בשפה). ולפני שאני אשכח - בעוד שבוע ומשהו אני טס לישראל דרך אמסטרדם, ויש לי שם איזה שבע שעות להסתובב. לא מכיר את העיר, אין לי שמץ מה יש שם (חוץ מ-coffee shops ובית אנה פרנק). המלצות יתקבלו בברכה

Okay, since you're so eager

Maybe you can tell me how to get Hebrew on my new computer? On my old computer it just happened one day, appearing out of nowhere. I touch type anyway, so the problem is not the lack of Hebrew stickers on my keyboard. Hell, I don't want no stickers defacing my elegant new keyboard! I have a UK version of Windows XP. I can read Hebrew and even have Hebrew (and Arabic) fonts hidden way down the contents of each different font (which I can only use in the same infuriating way as the virtual keyboard here, and only within an office document). All I want is the ability to type Hebrew - i.e. for the little blue square at the bottom of the screen to have Hebrew in addition to English and Dutch. That's not asking for much, now is it? I have searched the internet several times for answers, but each time I very quickly started losing the will to live. I don't want a Hebrew version of XP, I don't want spellchecks, or fancy features. I definitely don't want anything to change in my current, perfect UK version of everything I have, because that is the main language I use. I just want to be able to click my mouse and switch, so that I can use my keyboard to produce Hebrew instead of English letters when I'm on the internet. So what's your solution? All offers welcome, except for ones involving a trip to New York (I could go to Amsterdam for a friend to do his magic, but we both work and play at different times, so it is probably more difficult to coordinate than a trip across the Atlantic... I'm looking for an easy solution).

אז זה כל הסיפור?

לא תיארתי לי שזה הקושי, הרי זה טריוויאלי - קל מאד להוסיף את זה, XP תומך בזה בכל גירסה. נכנסים ל-control panel, בוחרים Regional and language options, בוחרים את הלשוניח Languages (למעלה באמצע). שם לוחצים על details, ובחלון שנפתח לוחצים על Add ומחפשים Hebrew ואז לוחצים OK. עכשיו, בתחתית החלון תלחצי על Language bar כדי לוודא שהוא יוצג לך בשורת המשימות (אחרת רק alt-shift יחליף בין שפות). אם מאיזשהיא סיבה מה שכתבתי לא פתר את הבעיה שלך, אני מציע לך לפתוח הודעה בפורום תמיכה טכנית, הם ודאי יוכלו לענות לך - אלפי אנשים כבר שאלו את זה.

But I'm afraid that it's a bit more complicated than that. My version of XP doesn't contain the files you mention. I'm working on it as we speak (Tomer's husband has played help-desk on the phone, so now I know exactly what I am looking for... I just need the right files)
