Granak’s Notes: Lucanesti? Where did THEY come from? As you will note, there are literally 9000 years of history in the timeline so far, and there is NO mention of any underground elves.
The book ends with some Lucanesti slave children escaping from Istar with Stormlight. The elves supposedly travel to a barbarian tribe called the Que-Nara. The book also makes the prophecy that the Stormlight, and Larken marry. They create a family line will eventually produce Goldmoon as a descendent. So Goldmoon then has elven blood in her. Does that explain Goldmoon’s long life into the 5th age? Riverwind the Plainsman has details of an underground elf tribe. Perhaps they are the same elves. However, the elves of the Hest in Riverwind the Plainsman were formed many years ago in the Kinslayer wars. I believe the elves are the one and the same. I speculate that when the Hest elves went underground, Istar enslaved a part of their group. That would explain why Silvanesti had no knowledge of the Lucanesti slaves. It would also explain what happened to the Lucanesti. After the end of this story, the Lucanesti elves might have re-intregrated into the Hest elves who do live in the region near the Que-Shu and the Que-Nara
