ועם פרטים מהעדות- Michael Jackson: "Tell Gloria Allred to go to Hell" Dressed in white, wearing only one shoe, and hobbling on crutches, Michael Jackson arrived at court on 3rd December (see Hot Shot 627) while being mobbed by fans and reporters. He arrived at 9:30am local time. NBC of 3rd December reported that as reporters outside the court shouted questions about the Balconygate incident in Germany, Michael "looked up with an expression of apparent annoyance over the questioning" and responded: "It´s my child. I love my children." (Michael had already issued a statement, while in Germany, saying that he had made a "terrible mistake" when he briefly held his youngest child, Prince Michael II, over his hotel balcony to show him to fans.) Michael stopped to sign autographs for fans on his way in and out of the Santa Maria court, where he is facing questioning in a trial brought by Marcel Avram. Explaining the crutches, Michael told Reuters: "It is a spider bite. It is real bad. If I showed it to you, you´d be shocked. It hurts very much right now as I speak." Michael was asked if the spider that bit him was one of his Neverland Valley pets, but he laughed and said no. "I love tarantulas, but not the little kind of spiders, the shoeless." Reuters reported that Michael demanded assurances that his injured foot did not show. He put his hand over a camera lens. "You´re too close," Michael said. The cameraman assured him it was OK, and Michael responded, "Promise? Promise?" On his way out of court, Michael has harsh words for Gloria Allred, the Californian attourney who, due to an obsession with him, has reported him to the authorities for the Balconygate incident. A reporter asked him, "Michael what would you say about Gloria Allred? Michael replied, "Who´s that?" The reporter answered, "She´s an attorney who´s calling for an investigation as a result of the incident?" "Tell her to go to hell," Michael said, in words that were broadcast on CNN on 3rd December. According to Associated Press of 3rd December, before beginning his testimony in court, Michael sat down in the witness chair, squeaked, "Aaoow!" several times into the microphone and made comical faces at courtroom observers. Michael testified that he could not recall details about his canceled millennium concerts. "That´s administrative work. That´s not what I do. I´m the entertainer," said Michael. According to the Santa Maria Times of 4th December, Michael said he could not remember if he was in New York City on 7th or 8th August, which is the date that Mr. Avram claims Michael´s management team told him the shows had been canceled. A copy of his calendar showed he was there, but Michael said he did not recognize the calendar and said, "I don´t understand the writing." Later, when shown a flight schedule, he explained "I fly all over the world all the time!" He said that a trip from New York to Los Angeles on 11th August "did not ring a bell." Reuters reported that during a lull in the testimony, Michael pulled goofy faces at the court photographer and used his fingers to make horns above his head. The Santa Maria Times reported that Louis "Skip" Miller, who is representing Mr. Avram and Steve Cochran and Zia Modabber, for Michael, fought about a communication between the two men´s attorneys from 1999. An hour later, Miller decided he would just take back the document, for now, and present it later with the author. According to the paper, Mr. Miller also presented new evidence that had not previously been discovered, causing Mr. Cochran to warn that both sides could make use of "trial by ambush and surprise" if they so wished. One long break came in the morning, with the jury of eight women and four men were excused early for lunch. The afternoon session did not begin until 2:00pm after more debates in the judge´s chamber. By about 3:00pm, there was another long break and finally, at 3:30 pm, the jury and Michael were sent home.
