Lisa Marie Unhappy Michael Jackson Owns Elvis' Material Lisa Marie Presley isn't happy that her ex-husband, Michael Jackson, owns the rights to some of Elvis Presley's hit songs. She told Jane magazine in its September issue, "I saw a Velveeta commercial, and it was playing, I think, 'Burning Love.' He had approved it--that's something we can't control. He can do whatever he wants with the songs he owns to make money, and that got under my skin." Presley also dismisses the idea that another former husband, actor and big-time Elvis fan Nicolas Cage, married her because she was "The King's" daughter. Rubberneckin' Sets New Record
Rubberneckin' Sets New Record in Australia Rubberneckin' became the #1 most added track on the Australian Radio Airplay Chart last week. And it has also given Elvis another historic achievement 'downunder', debuting at #8 on the National Airplay Chart. This is the highest debut for a new track since the chart started eight years ago. Rubberneckin' will go on sale in Australia on 1 September with a run of 95,000 copies being printed. It will be available in slimline and digipack formats. Elvis Has Left The Building - cd Out now is the new Rock Legends CD "Elvis Has Left The Building" from the Dutch fan club It's Elvis Time. As the title indicates, this two-paneled digipack contains original radio- and television broadcasts from August 16th and 17th, 1977, reporting the death of Elvis Presley. On this almost eighty minutes release, you can follow the news as it happened: from the first unconfirmed rumours, then the confirmation from the hospital and then the speculations and reactions, including the first unedited interview with Elvis' father Vernon Presley at ca. 16.30pm on August 16th, only a few hours after Elvis' body had been found. Also on this CD a long excerpt from the "Elvis What Happened" press-conference where Sonny West discusses the controversial book. As a bonus track an unreleased recording of Elvis backstage with several Japanese fans, recorded just minutes before the Midnight Show on August 9th, 1973.
