Mix-up costs the band £10,000 Girls ALoud are fuming after losing £10,000 to Liberty X. The fabulous five-piece were due to pocket £2,000 each for a performance at Kelle University on Thursday. But they were forced to cancel at the last minute thanks to a timetable cock-up. And who should step in to pocket rhe wedge - cash strapped Liberty X. My university mate tells me: £Girls Aloud had been booked to appear for ages but cancelled on Thursday afternoon. "Luckily Liberty X were available to help out at the last minute." A source close to Sarah Harding sand Girls Aloud told me: "They were gutted, because gigs like that pay good cash. They'd have picked up somethin like £2,000 each. "But they double booked - filming for the BBC on Thursday, then filming Discomania TV show all day on Friday. "You can rest assured their diary organiser got a right earful from the girls. " But their misfortune was Liberty X's good luck. The band were given a ticking off by record label accountants after dipping too readily into company cash. Michelle Heaton said: "We had a meeting with our accountant this week which was really boring. We've been told to stop spending too much." I'm told: "Libverty X were happy to perform, even at such late notice." The cash crisis comes after their second album, Being Nobody was bought by virtually nobody, - plunging the group into the red. Plans for a Uk tour earlier this year were also shleved because of poor ticket sales. I have to admire Girls ALoud's attitude. New single The Show has all the hallmarks of a No 1 and - despite pressure to get a hit - they're still out on the razz almost every night.
