As we are wading around in the pools this other couple hikes down and starts to get into the pools as well. Mike mouths to me "Is that Alanis Morisette?" Now my back was to them and I hadn't seen her but I just thought Mike was goofing off and I rolled my eyes at him. But when I got to where he was I turned around and it was her! It was really Alanis Morissette in the same tide pool I was in Maui - what are the odds. Mike said "Isn't it Ironic" I may be married to the most clever man ever! Okay, so we are standing there, 3 feet from her snuggling with her boyfriend, and Mike being casual asks them "So do you guys know where this blowhole place is?" And the boyfriend gives some directions when Mike says "We just can't seem to find it" and then I said "I keep trying to tell him that he is the blowhole" and I kid you not, Alanis clapped her hands, threw her head back, and laughed like that was the funniest thing she had ever heard! I just stood there dumbfounded and of course on a high that I just made her laugh that hard. I am sure my jaw hit the ground. Who knew I was oh so funny! And oh so funny to a famous person. That moment may have trumped seeing the turtle as the best part of the trip. After awhile they got dressed and left leaving the rest of us standing there, practically hysterical that we had just been that close to Alanis Morissette and that I had made her laugh that hard. (Can you tell this may have gone to my head a little?" We were on our way to the car when we turned around and they were behind us. So I thought I would try to be sneaky and get some pictures. Now I know there will be some doubters because these pictures are blurry - it was getting dark and she was pretty far away - but I promise you, it was her. I saw her up close and I know beyond a doubt that it was her. Especially since after sneaking a few pictures, the boyfriend caught onto what I was doing and they left with him walking between me and her the rest of the way up. I felt a little bad about that one, but it sealed the deal that she was Alanis. Normal people don't have photo blockers.
