3 items added today: KARNATAKA ~ STRANGE BEHAVIOUR 4th album from 2004. After 6 years and 3 immensly successful studio albums it is time to hear Karnataka live! Recorded in November 2003 this fabulous album summarizes their achievements to date and clearly demostrates why they are one of the most popular Prog live bands. With 2 female singers and a set of incedibly talented instrumentalists to back them up, this is always a pleasure to listen to this band. The material includes favorites from the studio albums as well as new songs performed here for the first time. Excellent! FLASH ~ PSYCHOSYNC Guitarist Peter Banks formed Flash in 1971 after he left Yes (another Yes member Tony Kaye on keyboards was also a part of the group in their early days). The group recorded 3 brilliant studio albums between 1971 and 1973, which in many respects were a continuation of the great Yes sound captured on the group`s first 2 albums, but introduced much more extended instrumental improvisations. Sadly the group disbanded after the 3rd album. This live recording from their 1973 US tour is a great document of their unique style, with plenty of space for some breath-taking performances during the long pieces. Originally available as a bootleg, now finally officialy released. PYLE, PIP / GREAVES, JOHN ~ THE PIG PART This little known gem is a rare collaboration between Canterbury master drummer Pip Pyle (Soft Machine, National Health, Hatfield and the North and Delivery) and singer / songwriter John Greaves (of Henry Cow fame). Recorded between 1997 and 1999 the 2 musicians, with the help of French guitarist Philippe Marcel Iung, create some fascinating modern Prog / Alternative music worthy of every Canterbury fan`s attention. ============================== Many items back in stock! ============================== Have Fun! 3 items added today: AFFINITY ~ ORIGINS 1965-67 The origins of Affinity go back as far as 1963, when the founding members of the band were still students at the University of Sussex, playing in a jazz trio. Later on (after several personell changes) the trio was joined by Linda Hoyle on vocals to form a jazz quartet, which still later on developed into the Affinity which produced the ephonymous Prog album. This album captures the jazz trio and quartet in the early days performing mostly jazz standards. Although not Prog, the seeds of the later developments can be heard already here. RUSSELL, RAY ~ WHY NOT NOW 1988 album by one of UK`s leading fusion guitar players with a stellar cast of musicians, including Mark Isham on trumpet, Gil Evans on piano, Simon Phillips on drums a.m.o. Russell has a rare talent to compose beautiful tunes and perform them with gusto. Elegant arrangements and superb musicianship make this album a real pleasure to listen to. Not to be missed by fusion fans! THIRD EAR BAND ~ THE MAGUS 4th album from 1972. Third Ear Band were one of the most interesting and challenging Prog groups to appear on the UK scene in the late 60`s and early 70`s. Their purely acoustic music, using unusual instrumentation (oboe, violin, etc.) and heavily influenced by mysticism and eastern musical forms, was decades ahead of their time. They released 3 albums (including the last one, which was the soundtrack for Roman Polanski`s Macbeth) and sadly disappeared. Now their 4th album, which remained unissued till now, is finaly out for all of us to enjoy. What a delightful discovery! Have Fun! Adam Baruch Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/
