David, Sweden did indeed change 'sides' from left to right in 1967. They could have not done that today, because of highways, flyovers,tunnels,junctions and the like. if you have a developed road infrastructure, it is almost impossible and very costly to change driving patterns. There are enough countries that do drive on the left- such as Japan, that would never change. As for trains; do not forget that most tracks can be constructed to be two way track, a practice common in the UK.The choice is to drive on the left, but there are many exceptions. regards Yoram

שוודיה לא נכבשה ע"י נפוליאון. שם נסעו בצד שמאל עד סוף שנות ה-60 של המאה ה-20, כאשר החליטו להתיישר עם ארצות יבשת אירופה האחרות ולעבור לצד ימין. (לא ידוע לי על עוד מדינה שלקחה/מוכנה לקחת על עצמה משימה קשה כזו.) לגבי רכבות, בארצות שבהן יושמה טכנולוגיה בריטית בזמנה (לפני למעלה מ-100שנה) הרכבות נוסעות בצד שמאל, למשל: הרכבות הבין-עירוניות בצרפת, וגם בארץ (משהתחילו בהכפלת מסילות בעשור הקודם).
