The issue of MA in the Modern army had been "neglected" for a very simple reason ,you will hardly can find a soldier at any time in the battle field alone, the chances that he / she will be in a position that his primary /secondary weapon is out of commission and there is nobody else with him to cover (which resulted that he/she have to use their hand/knife) is reduce to none ,that is the simple reason a modern army will not invest anything in unarmed combat, the chances of a lone soldier to survive in the battle field are as the same of winning the lottery , a unit commander/planer will invest more time in teaching his troops to work as a group to achieve a maximum from his budget ,however the story change dramatically for police officers that usually work in pairs or alone

דווקא לפני שבוע

פורסם באחד העיותונים באזרונו כי קצין זכה לעיטור לשבח על כך שהסתער בידים חשופות על מחבל חמוש (כלומר הנשק האישי שלו נתקל במעצור). המחבל ניסה לזרוק רימון לכיוון הכוח, והקצין עצר אותו והדף את הרימון מעבר לגבו של המחבל. הרסיסים הרגו את המחבל, ופצעו את הקצין ברגליו. יותר מזה, כשחשבתי להעלות את הטיעון שאתה זרקת, נזכרתי על כמה הצבא מתעסק דה-פקטו בפעולות שיטור. אם החיילים שלך צריכים לירות באויבים שלהם זה משהו אחד, אבל כשהם צריכים לעצור "חשודים", וכשאלו יכולים להתפרע, יש חשיבות גדולה מאוד לקפ"פ. ככה שרקע כלשהו בא"ל שימושי לכולם. לבסוף יש לך כמובן את היחידות המיוחדות למיניהן, שם השימוש בנשק קר הוא מאפיין של פעילויות שקטות מסוימות. חנן

זה שהצבא שלנו מתעסק בפעולות שיטור זה נכון מאד

אבל עדיין לא משנה את הטענה הבסיסית של ניקלסטיקס... ברגע שמתקיים שינוי יעוד מסויים צריך לבחון שוב את ההכשרה שעוברים החיילים - ובנוסף לתחום ההגנה העצמית בידיים ריקות (שוב, שים לב לחייל/שוטר בשטח נושא בהגדרה כלים נוספים רבים: אלה, סכין, אזיקים, נשק עם מעצור שיכול לשמש כאלה, טונפה וכו'..) הייתי יכול לחשוב על עוד כמה תחומים שכדאי להכשיר בהם את החיילים: ערבית בסיסית ותרבות ערבית, פסיכולוגיה תקשורתית בסיסית, עירנות וקריאת סימני מצוקה או לחץ, ועוד לא הזכרנו טכניקות שיטור בסיסיות שחיילים לא לומדים ממש כשם ששוטרים לא לומדים לירות ולטעון טנק או תומ"ת... הכל עניין של תקציב, זמן וסדרי עדיפויות...

היה מקרה שמחבל חדר למוצב

אם אני זוכר נכון, אז באחד המילואים האחרונים שעשיתי העבירו לנו תחקיר על אירוע שבו מחבל חדר למוצב, נכנס לחדר שבו שהו לוחמים, ושהתפתח שם מאבק בידיים ריקות עד שהוא הוכרע. אם אני זוכר נכון, הנשק של זה שנלחם איתו לא היה זמין עליו (כנראה היה זרוק בצד) ובכל מקרה לא בטוח שהיה ריאלי להשתמש בו באותו מקרה. אני לא זוכר את כל הפרטים ממש. רק שהיתה חדירה למוצב, וכתוצאה מהמסקנות הגיע לאימון שלפני התעסוקה מדריך קמ"ג להעביר לנו שיעור בסיסי (בסוף הוא נשאר מובטל כי אף אחד מהחבר'ה משום מה לא רצה לעבור אלא העדיפו להמשיך לנוח בצילייה... אבל זה כבר סיפור אחר).

מהו "שדה הקרב המודרני" ?

כשאנגלייה תפלוש לצרפת, תקבל שדה קרב מודרני. בנתיים רוב העימותים מסביב לעולם, מתנהלים בין מדינות פחות מודרניות למדינות אחרות (במידת מודרניות משתנה). בלחימה בשטח בנוי, ידע בסיסי בקמ"ג יכול להציל חיים.

Dear Hanan

Since the time when men start fighting in formations as a unit (Greek or Macedonians) the battle field become modern, the basic stay the same , usually a single soldier (regardless how brave he is or good in what he is doing ) will not do anything to bring victory in the battle field, think about your time in the army (I presume you are after you military service ) doing your build up area or open one ,picture this situation in your head and then you find out that you actually never been alone , always there was somebody around you to cover you ,and most of the time (unless you command the unit) you cover somebody else ,for the arguing sake let's take the lowest develop battle field – africa , this battle field still consist of the basics which is 2 or more unit (regardless their size) fighting against each other …. Did you ever remember hear that a front man challenge another or an outcome of any war was decided due to a single fight between 2 people … I do agree with you that to lern an un armed combat of any kind could save your life one day ,how ever if I had to dicied between training my soldiers to work as a group or single combat (un armed for that matter) the unit will always win , going back to my point again it is all matter of priorities
