1. Israel Railways Ltd. (“ISR” is considering using environmental-friendly electrically operated railway system. 2. The first stage of the electrification project is currently aimed to cover approximately 300 kilometers of double track network (“the Project”, all as specified in the RFI documents, which can be obtained, free of charge, upon request to be addressed to Ms. Ayelet Rott, Adv. via email: [email protected] or via fax number: 03-6937592. 3. It is the present intention of ISR that the Project will be carried out as a turnkey project (followed by a maintenance and operation period). 4. Through the process of this RFI, ISR seeks to encourage companies and other entities involved in the relevant industries, that have the proven capability, experience, knowledge, know-how and any other relevant data and information required in order to carry out the Project, to present such data and information to ISR. 5. Responses to this RFI must comply with all the requirements specified in the full RFI documents, and submitted in writing in a sealed envelope in 3 copies, to be deposited no later than July 4, 2004, at 13:00 (Israel time) into tender box No. 5 located at Israel Railways Ltd., Procurement and Contracting Division, Tel Aviv Central Train Station-Savidor (Arlozorov), Tel Aviv, Israel. 6. It is hereby clarified that this RFI process is taken by ISR solely for the purpose of receiving data and information, and it does not create any obligation on the part of ISR to commence, continue or complete a tender procedure and/or to act in any other acquisition method. Furthermore, neither the Mandatory Tenders Law, 5752-1992, nor the regulations promulgated thereunder will apply with respect to this RFI. 7.
