אורך ההנקה

אסתר שלום, בעבר כתבתי לך על שביתת ההנקה של בני (בן 3 חודשים) אך לאחר יומיים ( אחרי שנרגעתי מהלחץ הוא חזר לינוק), אז קודם כל תודה. בכל אופן כזכור יואב הגיע להנקה "רגילה" רק בשבוע וחתי האחרונים (לאחר יניקה עם פיטמת סיליקון ו- fingerfeeding). ההנקה לוקחת היום בערך שעה (כחצי שעה על כל צד), האם זה לא אמור להתקצר ? איך אפשר לזהות את השלב שבו הוא מוצץ אבל לא ממש שואב חלב ? (בסוף הצד שנראה שהוא כבר די נרדם אבל יש עוד מציצות כל כמה שניות)?

If he is on the breast and actually

getting milk, you will see that the rhythm of the feed is one suck per second. As the feed progresses, there might be 2-3 sucks then swallow. He will always get milk if he is latched correctly. If he is latched incorrectly, he will continue to suck until he gets tha amount of calories he needs. If you are not sure, another visit with the yoetset hanaka might be in order, just to check.​

as you descirbed, begines with one suction per minute and the 2-3 later. However, if he would have been breastfeeded (regulary) from day one, then each meal would have been shorter (in time) isn´t it ? Of so, should I expect his meals to get shorter, or do you believe it will take now a lot of time for him ?

So don´t worry about it!!

Some babies like to eat slowly.......he is a gourmet!! And that is much healthier than wolfing down your food!! get a good book to read while he is feeding.​
