Beckham and Williams are creator Marc Cherry’s top choices to play the best friends of another gay couple, who are the latest characters to move into Wisteria Lane. “David and Robbie are perfect to star as the new neighbours’ best friends,” Cherry said. The script-writer shared also that Tom Cruise has originally been chosen for a screen partner of Beckham but Williams won due to “his Britishness”. “They’re both funny, game for a laugh and ridiculously macho, so it should work wonderfully,” Cherry ended.
