but for the meaning. Stuck in second gear means you can't go forward, something started but it does not progress any more. In the song itself if it means that your life routine is always the same, no progress anywhere (career, romance).​

that there IS progress of some kind, but still.. you remain at the same speed.. and it's low.. you know? and everybody's already on the 3rd-4th-5th gear, and you're still stuck on the second, with your low speed, can't go any further.. So it's not exactly that you're getting NO PROGRESS, it's just that the progress is really slow.. you're like a turtle, compared to anyone else.

Love that show, god. well, DOA stands for "dead on arrival" it's a medical term for a patient that arrived dead to the hospital (too late).. and had no chance. it's also used as a slang, and on that case the meaning IS the slang meaning, which means that his love life has no chance from the begining.. like he has reached a point in his life when he doesn't feel like starting a new relationship, because he feels like it's doomed from the begining. hope i helped keep watching re-runs!​
