who is an Hacker ?
Tell me if this fits the descripttion of an hacker for you ? He got his net account several years ago. he has been surffing the net houres and houres, he got an SMB cracker, he has a password crackers. he got a DES passwd file and he rean a cracker like crackerjack, he got a shell account. He write´s scripts in perl and scanes the Net. Everyone at he´s Uni/School is impressed by he´s computer knowledge, he is the one that teachers and lecturers ask for help. Does this sound like an hacker for you? He is not an Hacker. He get´s into 2600, security-focus and He ask´s questions. He read phrack and he ask questions. He join´s #hack #hackers and #hacking on irc and he ask´s questions. he ask all of these questions, and he ask´s what is wrong with that? After all, to be an hacker is to question things, is it not? But, he do not want knowledge. he want´s answers. He do not want to learn how things work. He want´s answers. He do not want to explore. All He want´s to know is the answers to he´s damn questions. He is not an Hacker. Hacking is not about answers!!! Hacking is about the path you take to find the answers. If you want help, don´t ask for answers, ask for a pointer to the path you need to take to find those answers for yourself. Because it is not the people with the answers that are the hackers, Hackers are the people that are travelling along the path...
