Tomatitio - Amsterdam

Hi to you all, yesterday night I saw Tomatito live in Amsterdam. Wanted to share it with you guys - it was a great experience seeing this monumental musician doing his job. He is good - very good. His group had cajon, elctric bass/singer and a dancer. I had a great time. I did sometimes had the idea that he developed his program especially for western evenings like this: a lot of rumba's and tangos. Still he gave some great taranta's and other jondo compas. That's it - a message from Amsterdam

אני זוכר שראיתי הופעה שלו בתיאטרון לה מאסטרנזה אני חושב, בביאנל בסבייה. שם הוא נתן בהתחלה כמעט שעה של קטעים כמעט קלאסים עם עוד גיטריסט, ורק בחצי השנה עלתה שאר הלהקה למופע יותר 'פלמנקי'. בכל אופן, גיטריסט מחונן והייתי נותן הרבה בשביל לראות אותו שוב בהופעה..בינתיים אינ נהנה לשמוע אותוט מלווה את קמרון בהופעה האגדית מפריז.. כל הכבוד ודש לאמסטרדם

Tomatito in Paris

It is a wonderful recording - Tomate y Camaron - I have on dvd - legendary. As to the great show in Amsterdam; well, it was not as duende-rich as the one in Paris with Camaron - but still great. I think that what impressed me the most was the fact the visual relationship between Tomatito and his young band; Tomatito sitting in the middle of the stage looking very cool around him to see whether everybody is doing the job. And sometimes you can see him 'throwing'a look of appreciation at one of his young musicians.....wouw, the pride of this musician after being complimented by the great maestro.....incredible!!!!
