hey guys its adam from london Posted on 7/24/2007 by Maroon5 hello everyone! so we just got back from yet another tv appearence in london...we get to play wake up call now which is a nice change. im really excited about this song. its really different for us. which brings me swiftly to my reason for posting a comment today. occasionally one of us will check out what you crazy kids are discussing on the message boards. i just wanted to clarify a few things and speak my mind briefly about a couple of things that have been bothering me. as you know we love our fans. and i love seeing a real community forming around the band and our music. there is nothing more exciting than people appreciating the thing youre most passionate about. I LOVE YOU ALL so much. i mean that with all my heart. about a month ago some really nasty things were said about my girlfriend. someone informed me that she had been called a cheap slut, or something to that affect. apparently the comments were erased. but either way, i have no tolerance for shit like that. she deserves an apology. not even the tabloids are that nasty. and one more thing id like to clear up is the wake up call video. this song has been very controversial even amongst the band. i just want to let you guys know where i was coming from when i wrote it. ive always been fascinated by what drives people to certain extremes. death and destruction are as much a part of life as love and happiness. i ALWAYS write such personal lyrics and to be honest i was quite bored with myself at that point. i wanted to be a bad guy. i wanted to play a role. and thats what wake up call is. as you'll see in the video the crime does not go unpunished and in NO way am i making light of or glorifying violence. we made a great video that i stand by. exposing some of the more unpleasant realities of human nature is interesting in my opinion. thats it. just feel as though i had to say something. anyway i dont discourage any kind of dialogue. opinions are beautiful things. please just dont say hurtful things about eachother or any of the band members. (or their girlfriends) and please reserve judgement on wake up call until you see video. thank you...ok now i feel better. thanks for listening. awesome. LOVE ADAM
