strange fatality in Italy
Hi. i found this incident report in Dropzone.com. its interesting so i decided to bring it here.. jump safe Ron A 32 yo italian skydiver died on the 7th of June. After a normal freefall he pulled at a normal altitude and was seen from the ground like having a spinning canopy. After some moments, he was seen falling away from his canopy, apparently after a cutaway. But the main canopy continued to fly normally, with something attached to it. The jumper did not pulled anything and impacted the ground. When the people reached the guy they saw that the jumper had not any gear on his body. The gear was found far from the body, apparently with the chest strap broken. Seems that the chest strap failure caused the jumper to be pulled away from his harness while spinning, falling to his death. The DZ owners are trying to get in touch with the harness manufacturer to send they the pics of the damaged harness. No more info's at the time...
