Spit Up

Alma is 6.5 weeks old. Born 7.6 Lbs now weighs 11.1 Lbs. Recently she has been spitting up after every feed. I don´t know if this is a cause for alarm. I don´t think she spits more than a Tsp, but still, is this normal? Also, she has only one BM a day (cottagy, yellow) and many wet diapers , is that fine? She feeds on cue, I lose count, so I don´t know how many times a day
Aslo, what is the rule of thumb for burping... Thanks Michal

Spitting up

When to worry about spitting up: 1. If the baby is doing projectile vomitting, which means that when she spits up, it hits the wall on the other side of the room. IN this case, you will also see that she has fewer wet diapers, and acts very sick. In this case, you go to your doctor. 2. If your baby is spitting up and crying terribly after it. This may be reflux, and there are treatments for it. Your stopping milk products for a week is the first treatment, which most doctors don´t know. 3. If your baby is spitting up and is not gaining weight, you should worry, and again the first thing is to stop all milk products. Otherwise, your baby may be giving you back change......she ate a little too much, and is returning it!! IN this case, don´t change anything, except your clothes ten times a day.
Or, there is an air bubble, and a little milk on the bubble which comes up with the burp. If your baby does not cry before the feed, nad she should not if you are watching her cues, then she wont swallow air, unless she has a really bad latch. Try to improve the latch a little. Make sure that she is latching onto the lower part of the areola.........a more assymetric latch........where her chin is deeper n the breast than her nose, and her whole body is moved a little in the direction of the other breast.
