Serious Dilemma
Hello, I need your input on my probelm... I'm sorry for the English - I don't have a Hebrew keyboard at the moment, but you can answer in Hebrew - that's no problem. I have a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Tel Aviv university. I enjoyed my studies very much and finished with an 88 average. I am now facing the job market and realize that I don't have many job prospects with my degree, except doing secreterial work, in which I am not interested. I am considering three options - they will all take the same time (2 years) and roughly the same amount of money, so these are things I am taking out of the equation - I can afford it and take the time. 1. MA in Human Resources management - the problem is that I don't know where the jobs are. It seems to me that this area in order to get good jobs you need a lot of "protekzia", something that I don't have at all. I don't know anybody in the field, although I am very attracted to it and think I would do well. Am I right in my assessment about the "protekzia"? Do you think this profession has a future in 2 years and in general? 2. MA in gerontology - again, something I believe is very interesting and very important - however, where are the jobs?? I don't see any demand for this right now and the only jobs are for social workers. It seems that this area has yet to develop a potential. 3. hasava for academics to registered nursing. I am not crazy about this, but it looks like there are always jobs for nurses and it's not that hard to advance. What are the salaries for nurses? Is having a BA in sociology+nurse diploma = ba in nursing as far as employers are concerned? What do you think about these 3 options based on your knowledge and trends in the job market? I want to finally have a profession, instead of just education. Any other ideas on what I can do with my degree? Thank you very much in advance. This forum is always very helpful
