problems with my speech

Hey guys! how are you? It's my first time here, you all seem very nice and I thought you may help me with my biggest insecurity in English. I think my English isn't bad but I have a really hard time talking in front of other people (not to mention a crowd) and it bothers me a lot. I just find it very difficult for me to pronounce the letter R in many words, many times I feel stupid and sometimes other people don't event understant what I'm saying. I tried listening to other people speaking English and pronouncing the letter but I just can't help myself feel comfortable with this letter. Overcoming this would help a lot to my self confidence and help me speak more fluently. Can you help me solve this problem? Is there anything I can do or anybody I can turn to? [ If you find any mistakes in this message, please correct them for me, thanks:) ]

damn i wrote this whole thing and

it refreshed the page. anyways, i'll just give you the basic ideas : pronounce your R's like you would in hebrew practice in front of the mirror watch TV (not movies, actors tent to mumble in movies) and the best advice i can give you: sing this (i'll give you the notes in a sec) one two three four five five four three two one one two three four five five four three two one one five four five three fiive two five one five four five three two one one five four five three fiive two five one five four five three two one sing it slowly then increase your speed..continue to do so until you get to a speed where you mumble. then do it again. do this everyday, you'll see significant improvement. and the notes: one -Do two- rhe three- me four- fa five- saw (so whenever one comes, you play do, etc.) good luck!

sounds funny but

i'll try it as well... the only problem for me is that i'm confusing the notes once i get to the "five one five four" part lol does it really help? my thing is to improve the way i pronounce R & L

ok so the notes are easy

one five four five three fiive two five one five four five three two one would be do saw reh saw me saw fa saw do saw reh saw me reh do (we played it so the very last "three two one"is me fa saw) this will help you improve anything. seriously, it's a great way to pronounce things better. i did this as part of a singing warm up (it was in new jeresy) and it helps a lot.

uh, i'm not sure.

i think that if you can hear it once you'd know what i mean. do you know anyone that can play an instrument? i would recird it for you but i don;t have my keyboard on campus. i think that it would work without the music but it would b hard to find the right pace
