I am a therapist working in pediatric, mainly with children with autism. In the place where I work we provide a lot of SI tx. I heard therapists talking about the fact that you can not increase tone through vestiv bular stimulation. THe therapist who heard it from another therapist was saying that you can only maintain tomne ofa muscle and increase the tone of the adjacent muscles. any one know anything about it? I would love also to be in touch with therapists who work with the autistic population. from the israeli OT in NY

about muscle tone: what I know is exactly the same you wrote down: you are not changing the tone of the muscles but you can stimulate other muscle fibers to participate in a movement so the end result of the movement will be better. I can not help you about much information about autism, sorry. happy new year, femmie

hi, I do not know where you can read about this subject, may be in basic study books? A PT here in Israel named Shlomit Naor Yahel - Rechovot gives courses in which she passes over more knowledge about the basic motor development in children to OT´s and ST´s, and I think there we learned about the subject. if you want me to look for her phone number let me know, shabbat shalom, femmie
