looking for young american families in israel

Hello ! my name is aviv , my wife is hilary , and our son is raz. we currently live in los angeles but in july this year we will move (mywife will make aliyah , i am israely so pardon the spelling mistakes, she does not have any...) to israel , my wife hilary and i are 29 years old and she is vey worried about not having friends or people to talk to in english in the begining... if anybody has any info about american communities in israel , ulpanim that have mostly americans , anything will help. we would be very greatfull. thank you aviv

You're wife doesn't know hebrew? that's the problem?? dude, dont worry... there are schools in Israel which she can learn hebrew in.. calm her down, you'll get along in time...
 
Hi Aviv and Hilary!

It really depends on where you decide to live - Some towns are full of Anglos (Ra'anana, Jerusalem, or Tel Aviv for instance) and in some other places (like Dimona) you won't find a single soul you can talk to! That's an important parameter in deciding where to settle. You must have family here, Aviv, so ask them to do some research for you. I don't think you'll find ulpanin with mostly English speakers, we don't get that many olim who are native English speakers, compared to other languages. How old is Raz? He must be young, so he won't have any trouble. My daughter made aliya as a tot and she is now a bilingual adult. Anyway, keep in touch and good luck! Beth
