Live-In Babysitter Position in New York
Babysitter Job Post: Seeking vibrant, creative, loving, and responsible, fluent Hebrew/English speaker for year-long (minimum) live-in babysitting job in New York. The year would start in the middle of August 2011 and continue through part of the summer 2012. This position might be of interest to a person who is post-army or post-sherut leumi, though candidates of any age would be considered, particularly those who have extensive experience with children. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are a must. If you are a creative, energetic person who enjoys children and treats children in your care as you would treat your own children or young siblings, and you are looking to work full time for a full year, we would like to meet you. If you are only looking for a few months of work/travel in the United States, this is not the situation for you. We cannot consider candidates who cannot commit to working mid-August ‘11-end of June ’12. We also would like a babysitter who is willing to do various neighborhood errands, help prepare simple meals, and help keep the children and their belongings clean and organized. A bit about us: We have 3 young children (ages 7, 3, and 9 months). We spend summers in Jerusalem and we want our children to learn Hebrew. The two older children go to school and the baby will be home. Candidates must be flexible about their workdays--there will be some early mornings 6:45am and late nights. But most days will be about 8:30-6:30 except for Fridays when you may leave a reasonable amount of time before Shabbat, plus approximately one or two evenings a week and approximately one or two Saturday or Sunday evenings a month. Evenings and weekends are your own (though you are free to be here during those times), and a car is usually available for use, though we are also near buses and subways to all to New York. We are a modern Orthodox family living in a large and very diverse community, Riverdale, New York, with many shuls . You will have your own very nice and comfortable living accommodations.
