JACKO: I´M HATED BECAUSE

שוב אני... תודו שהתגעגעתם!

JACKO: I´M HATED BECAUSE I OUTSOLD ELVIS Wacko Jacko says he´s no freako. Michael Jackson yesterday lashed out at accusations that he´s a gay child molester who bleaches his skin so he won´t look black, saying they´re part of a "conspiracy" to "turn the public against him." "I was called a freak, a homosexual, a child molester. That I bleach my skin. Everything to turn the pub-RT>lic against me," Jackson said before a packed house at the Rev. Al Sharpton´s Harlem headquarters. "It was a complete conspiracy." In 1993, Jackson was accused in a lawsuit of molesting a 13-year-old boy. The child was one of the many young pals, including Macaulay Culkin and Emmanuel Lewis, the self-proclaimed King of Pop entertained at his bizarro fun-park ranch, Neverland, in California. Jackson settled the suit, reportedly for $15 million to $24 million. Yesterday, the usually reclusive Jackson continued a wild, high-profile attack he started Saturday, when he threw down the gauntlet to his record-label boss, Tommy Mottola of Sony, calling the exec a racist. Jacko - whose face has been changed drastically by plastic surgery - launched a diatribe as he explained why he is the industry´s newest black activist. "I know my race. I just look in the mirror. I know I´m black," Jackson said, as hundreds exploded in cheers. "We are all brothers and sisters - no matter what color we are." Wearing a black jacket and pants, Jacko said the music industry turned on him "overnight" after he displaced white artists as the planet´s No. 1-selling artist. Music moguls "are liars. They manipulate our history books. You must know that," he said, as the crowd cheered him on. "If you go to the bookstore at the corner, you won´t see one black face. You´ll see Elvis Presley and The Rolling Stones." He claimed the industry attack on him began after "I broke Elvis´ record and the Beatles´ record" in sales. The Harlem meeting - at which Sharpton and lawyer Johnnie Cochran said they would take on the music industry for taking advantage of minority artists - drew hundreds of Sharpton supporters and fans eager to see Jackson. Jackson, who was pumping his fist in the air as Sharpton yelled, "No justice, no peace," spent much of the two-hour meeting blowing kisses to fans and even giving a thumbs-up to one who screamed, "I love you, Michael!" Sharpton, who stood shoulder to shoulder with Jackson, said he wants to meet with music-industry heads to discuss properly compensating minority artists. Sharpton also praised Jackson for appearing at yesterday´s meeting. "Michael is no wacko," he said. "He´s still an icon." When asked if he wanted to meet with Mottola about racism, Sharpton said, "Yes, but it´s not limited to one company. I want to reach out to all of them."

EX-BOSSES TO JACKO: MAN IN THE MIRROR IS TO BLAME By JEANE MacINTOSH Michael Jackson´s former managers yesterday blasted him for branding Tommy Mottola a racist, and said the Gloved One is using the Sony chief in an "absurd," "ridiculous" effort to explain why his last album flopped. Managers Frank DiLeo and Sandy Gallin, along with music impresario Russell Simmons, were among those who rallied to support Mottola after Jackson´s blistering weekend attack accused the music mogul of making a racial slur and called him "devilish." "Tommy Mottola is not a racist," said DiLeo, who managed Jackson during the years of his blockbuster "Thriller" and "Bad" albums. "This whole thing is about Michael looking to put the blame for a bad record on somebody besides himself, and it´s an unfortunate way to do it." Jackson blames Sony for the failure of his new album, "Invincible." "Despite what Michael says, he has been making his own marketing and management decisions for more than 12 years. What that kid really needs to do is stand in front of a full-length mirror and take a good hard look at the real problem," DiLeo said. Gallin, who managed Jackson for seven years in the 1990s, also weighed in, albeit reluctantly. "I don´t want to take sides, but this is really the most absurd situation," he said. Meanwhile, Simmons, who has known Mottola 20 years, said: "There are two things I know: Tommy Mottola is not a racist, and, in black music, especially, you don´t need $30 million to make an album successful. If it´s a hit record, it´ll stick on its own.

New York civil rights campaigner Rev Al Sharpton has been joined by prominent black music industry players in criticizing Michael Jackson´s attack on Sony boss Tommy Mottola. In a Saturday press conference with Sharpton, Jacko had blasted Mottola - ex-husband of Mariah Carey - for keeping black artists down. An uneasy Sharpton admits he was "taken aback and surprised" by the verbal assault, saying, "I have known Tommy for 15 or 20 years, and never once have I known him to say or do anything that would be considered racist. In fact, he´s always been supportive of the black music industry. He was the first record executive to step up and offer to help us with respect to corporate accountability when it comes to black music issues." Aside from Rev Sharpton, many music artists were not pleased by Jackson´s race claims towards Mottola. Bobby Brown, husband of R & B artist Whitney Houston was shocked as well as others by Jackson´s accusations. Brown states, "Calling Tommy Tottola a racist is carrying things way too far. I think Michael needs to end this now before he makes the situation worse for himself. I know Tommy pretty well and ain´t no way he´s a racist." Destiny´s Child were appalled by the reports, as well as the pop diva herself - ex wife of Mottola, Mariah Carey. Carey could not be reached for a comment but her rep Cindi Berger released this statement; "Mariah doesn´t really know how to react to Michael Jackson´s accusations. She was shocked of course as we all are. Throughout all the years she has known Tommy, she has never known him to be a racist. Mariah does not feel that he is such a person after all the support he had given her. Michael did not have Mariah´s permission or consent to use her in his battle with Sony and she does not want any part of it." (Music NewsWire)
