Israeli SQL Server User Group Meeting #136
When: Monday, November 4, 2013 - 17:30-20:30
Where: Dekel Hall, Microsoft Offices, 2 HaPnina St. Raanana
What:
1.Dynamic SQL - A Practical Guide (Geri Reshef, Bank HaPoalim)
Dynamic SQL is a powerful tool to handle non set based problems, or to apply tables based business logic (the bussiness logic is formulated inside tables of rules and not inside the T-SQL code, and thus its maintenance gets simpler). This session will introduce some scenarios and will provide some tips & tricks to facilitate the development and the debugging of dyamic SQL. We will also relate to security issues.
Geri Reshef (Blog), SQL Server MVP since July 2013, is a DBA with vast experience in writing T-SQL code, handling complex queries and finding creative solutions to practical problems. Geri runs a professional blog for the last 4 years, and he occasionally speaks at professional events.
2.B2B - It's not so Simple to be in Simple Mode although It might be Foolish to be in Full Mode (Dubi Lebel)
Back to basics: databases can use different working/recovery modes. Is your database really using the right mode based on the activity it is performing? What is the significance of each one of these modes? How they affect the internal operations of the database?
Dubi Lebel is a DBA - Don't Bother Asking.
