?Is Russia a racist country
The reason on why I'm asking this is because me and some of my classmates have to go to this international student summer course over there in two cities: St. Petersburg and Moscow. I'm not saying this for me that I'm worried about but two black students are coming with us, and thus I kinda feel bad and worried for them. I searched on racism in Russia and came up with things like "Somewhat intense but still present..." Just to feel safe before our trip. Our professor told us that we'll be okay and that he knows plenty of foreigners who studied there and nothing happened to them. Which again made us feel okay. As long as we don't get stared that much.
But I know that everywhere you go you'll find more nice people than mean people. Its true. But do Russians not understand other cultures or people? Why are they so stuck up and prejudiced when they're not even that rich? Or should we not do some things that bother them that are not acceptable in their culture? Should we avoid some places if they stare for too long at you?
