Important question regarding VAT!!!
We are moving to Amsterdam in July 1st, and our things are being shipped with a shipping company. They are taking everything tomorrow.
It is my understanding that there is a procedure than needs to be carry out in terms of the VAT (the 30% rule applies to me, and I received a document on this from Expat Center when I registered to get a social security number.)
HOWEVER, we were just told that the shipping company ships our things to the UK, and then transports everything to the Netherlands. So I am now very confused what this means in terms of my tax exemption.
Does anyone know anything about this? I am really worried that somehow I will find myself with out the VAT exception?
