Next season, Clark discovers a new power that not only increases his ability to help others, but also his chances for being discovered. Lex also gains new power, but of a different nature. In the fight to oust his father from Luthor Corp., he undergoes a sinister transformation that will warp his friendship with Clark. The greatest threat to Clark Kent remains the disclosure of his true identity. (Can he trust a close friend when the truth is revealed?) John Glover and Eric Johnson may appear again as reoccurring guest stars. 2.01 VORTEX x Lana does survive the tornado, but don´t look for Clark and Lana to be together just yet. "There will be other obstacles...We don´t have any plans for another cast member, but there might be some recurring guest stars." x Lana and Martha talk about the day of the meteor shower. Martha tells Lana about how she wished she´d have a child with the wish that the young "fairy princess" Lana offered her. A few months later, Clark came along. After the conversation Lana grants Martha another wish. x Jonathan and Nixon are missing following the tornado. A traced cell phone call may lead to finding them. x Lionel may be paralyzed but Lex surprisingly stays by his side. Of course, we still don´t know if that means Lex helped him get out or not, or if he allowed Lionel to suffer. Either way, in a true role reversal, it looks like Lex will control his father´s destiny. x A year ago, Smallville started with Lex Luthor being rescued in a mysterious fashion and his car left in a really odd shape. Now, a year later, Lana Lang was rescued and Whitney´s truck was left looking as if a bomb had hit it. Will Lex make the connection? -- Source Kryptonsite NEW 2.02 HEAT x Clark exhibits a new power in this episode. x Lex gets married! lark, of course, is asked to be the best man. She´s Desiree Atkins -- soon to be Luthor -- and it sounds like she´s marrying Lex in order to get at his wealth. Oh yeah, Desiree also seems to have an interest in younger men with super powers. x It also sounds like Desiree has a position at Smallville High. x Desiree brings an enemy of Lex´s in after him, and this person comes holding a rifle. x Desiree puts out a phosphorescent "smoke" that puts her in control of men -- except of course for men who happen to be Kryptonian. This would explain how she takes such an easy control over Lex. x There´s a scarecrow in this episode, but not the same kind of scarecrow that we saw in the Smallville pilot. x It sounds like the title comes from two things: Clark´s new power, and the idea that every male at Smallville High thinks Desiree is "hot." x We´re hearing that the second or third episode of Season 2 will satisfy folks with a craving for "more Pete." While no one´s actually saying what the episode is about, we have a speculation that it may have something to do with the whole "a friend learns Clark´s secret" that the WB once leaked... of course then again, maybe Pete will just finally take action and stop hanging out with a supposed "best friend" who seems more interested in hanging out with the rich bald guy. Since it doesn´t sound like Pete is in "Heat" very much, it could mean that the big Pete episode will be the third episode of the season. -- Source Kryptonsite NEW 2.03 DUPLICITY x This one sounds like it´ll answer the "who knows Clark´s secret" question. The WB´s website hinted that a "friend will learn Clark´s secret," and we reported here on KryptonSite a few weeks ago that a big Pete episode was coming up. Well, here we may get our wish... as two guys named Ray and Glenn, and "a kid named Pete Ross" witness a spaceship in a cornfield. x To add another complication to things for Clark, after Pete finds the spaceship, he takes it back to his tool shed. Oops. He then wants to have a press conference to tell the world about what he has found. x Dr. Hamilton sees the depression in the field, making him also quite curious about what lurks within. x After Pete witnesses the whole ship thing, Clark debates with his parents about just telling Pete the secret. "Pete would never say anything," he argues. "People slip sometimes. Even the most trustworthy of friends," Martha tells him. Jonathan thinks it´s "too dangerous" for Pete to know. Clark tells them he hates having to lie all the time, and wonders what he´s going to say to Pete when the ship disappears, if Pete asks him about it. The spoilers we´ve obtained don´t say anything for sure that Pete will definitely find out in this episode, but we´re saying that the chances look pretty good. x Aunt Nell has a new boyfriend named Dean who starts sharing ideas on things to do to drum up Talon business, which you know is going to bother Lana down the line. x Lana tells Aunt Nell that Chloe was staying overnight for a sleepover, but that´s not actually what they were doing. Get out of the gutter -- surely whatever they did had to do with catching the freak of the week, or something like that, right? Chloe tries to make a save and claims they were having an all-night Keanu DVD-a-thon. -- Source Kryptonsite 2.0? REDUX x Martha´s father, William Clark, comes to town after many years of being estranged due to conflicts with Jonathan. Clark wants to get to know his grandfather more but will the family rifts keep them all apart? x Clark does a super-feat underwater! Did we mention that Clark will be wearing red speedos in this one? In a Superman first, it won´t be on top of a costume, either! x Somehow the "freak of the week" can make people age at a very rapid pace, possibly so he/she can stay young. x Smallville High has a new principal, Principal Reynolds, who challenges Clark to find his journalistic side. x The new principal apparently used to be a professor at Exeter Prep when Lex attended the school there. For some reason Chloe thinks the new principal is shady. -- Source Kryptonsite
