i had a very frustarting experience this mornning, thought I'll vent about it here.. I'm in the process of applying for a green card. As part of the application I am required to go to what they call a "civil surgon" which is a doctor that was nominated by the department of homeland security. So I have to get a "physical exam" by one of those doctors on the list and a blood test for HIV and a TB test. Basically if you have what they call an infectious desease you can not appply for a greencard. (they have some exceptions where you can obtain a waiver etc.). And you have to pay between 135-225$ for this test!!!! So I am sitting there, the nurse is taking out my blood and I am full of rage beause to begin with it is such a decriminiation against people with HIV plus it feels like such a money making deal, the doctor didn't really examine anything he just briefly met with me for about 30 seconds..I can not describe how awful this is, and how angry this makes me.
