כרגע הזמנתי 2 כרטיסים לי ולחבר שלי. אני רק מקווה שהוא לא יקבל רגליים קרות ואאלץ למצוא מחליף או לחליפין להגיע לבד. אגב ספיישל רוק מתקדם ב 88 FM והאנטנה המחורבנת (סליחה על המילה) שלי מוסיפה רעש סטטי למוסיקה... מושהו יודע איזה כבל צריך כדי לחבר את הרדיו לשקע של הכבלים? ואם אמור להיות לי אותו בבית??

2 great reissues added today: DRISCOLL, JULIE / AUGER, BRIAN / TRINITY ~ STREETNOISE (DELUXE EDITION) Originally released in 1969 as a double LP, this was to be the last cooperation between Julie and Brian (well not really, as they re-united for another album years later). This is undoubtedly one of the best proto-Prog releases of all times and one of the best 1960s albums. Julie`s expressive vocals are just heartbreaking and Brian`s jazzy hammond is unsurpassed. The material - a mixture of originals and covers - is very well selected and includes the unforgettable ode dedicated to the tragic Czech uprising (Czechoslovakia), which was brutally put down by invading armies of the Soviet block. Over the years this album lost absolutely nothing of its strength and beauty. Definitely an essential listen! ATOMIC ROOSTER ~ NICE `N` GREASY (DELUXE EDITION) 5th and last album from 1973. It marks even further change in the band`s musical direction moving away from the heavy / Prog style, which dominated the first 3 releases, towards more funk / soul. Chris Farlowe`s vocal talents were of course well suited for this music. Many Crane`s followeres were quite disappointed by this new direction, but in retrospect this is still quite a well done album featuring extremely talented musicians. 7 new items added today: We start with the first 5 albums by Queen in the beautiful Japanese mini-sleeve edition: QUEEN ~ QUEEN 1st album from 1973. Although largely overshadowed by the later masterpieces, this is a very strong debut album by one of the most popular and revered Rock bands of all times. Basically a Hard Rock album, dominated by the excellent guitar work (with many overdubs and effects) by Brian May and Freddie Mercury´s vocal acrobatics. In retrospect it is a classic of the genre. Limited Edition QUEEN ~ QUEEN II 2nd album from 1974. Heavier and darker then the debut, this was their first album to win both the critics and the fans approval and hit the charts. It still does not reach the level of magic and perfection acheived on the 3 albums that follow, but it is a great classic nevertheless. It was also the first album to reach US on a wide scale and win the band the huge following there. Limited Edition QUEEN ~ SHEER HEART ATTACK 3rd album from 1974. Considered as the first of Queen`s true classic albums. The group was slowly moving away from the Hard Rock basics and generating their own characteristic style by mixing elements of Rock and sophisticated Pop, with vocal harmonies and guitar pyrotechnics. A great collection of songs and just on the verge of world-wide explosive acclaim. Limited Edition QUEEN ~ A NIGHT AT THE OPERA 4th album from 1975. Considered not only Queen`s absolute classic masterpiece, but also as one of the best Rock albums ever. It includes the track `Bohemian Rhapsody`, which was to become their anthem, and a great collection of songs, all perfectly executed and crafted. Full of humor, satire and even sheer absurdities, the group broke all boundaries and conventions on this one. Limited Edition QUEEN ~ A DAY AT THE RACES 5th album from 1976. As the title suggests, this was in many ways a companion album to its masteful predecessor. As much as they struggled to acheive the same level of brilliance, they never managed to match it, but addmitedly they did manage to come damn close. It is a brilliant album in every respect and a timeless masterpiece. Limited Edition ====================== Next an overlooked album, that should have been here a while back: LORD, JON ~ PICTURED WITHIN Recorded in 1997 while Jon was still an active member of Deep Purple, this is his furthest venture away from Rock and into the classical music. Although previous Lord`s solo albums flirted with classical music, on this one he takes the deep plundge and leaves the Rock elements completely out of the equation. This mostly instrumental / orchestral music is serene and deeply lyrical, with only a few vocal tracks. The album consists of 4 legthy suites, each sub-divided into 3 parts. As all things, a matter of taste, but the classical textures he produces here are really quite beautiful. ====================== And last (but certainly noy least) another Marillion album that also should have been here a long time ago: MARILLION ~ MISPLACED CHILDHOOD 4th album from 1985. Considered as the Fish-era Marillion`s best album, this is an elaborate concept album inspired by the singer`s childhood memories and later life experiences. It includes their anthem `Kayleigh`, which is a great love ballad and a series of other excellent tunes. A Prog classic!
