byrne victim -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this is what's called saturation... listening to the talking heads albums in chronological order and reading david byrne's online journals at www.davidbyrne.com/journal/index.php after watching the film Stop Making Sense... a talking heads live concert from 1984 that just replaced Prince's Sign o' the Times concert film from the coveted Most-Mind-Blowing-Mid-Eighties-Music-Movie-That-Had-Until-Recently-Been-Unknown-To-Me position in my brain. I believe everything comes to us at the Perfect time in our lives... sometimes we're more active in what we seek out... sometimes things seem to fall into our laps... I wonder where that expression comes from... let me check... No luck after a brief search... but I did come across a site with a list of proverbs... quaint... Better Safe than Sorry... Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely... A Woman's Place is in the Home... Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail... um... wait... go back one proverb... yeah... the woman's place one... what a strange history we have as a species... I look forward to the day that women really occupy an equal position of power in the world of humans... What do you think...? the next US election will probably feature Hillary Clinton as the democratic candidate... My friend Matthew Joseph has a clothing company that makes a shirt for guys that says Feminist on the chest... and his logo is a circle around a slanted equal sign... meaning All Encompassing Equality is an Uphill Battle. I'm hopefull... I think things have to move in the right direction eventually... and I don't even know what direction that is... i just know that things happen... time is unstoppable... and this planet alone, not to mention the whole universe and all of existence, is so big, so really huge and incomprehensible that the only calming idea for me is just to be grateful that i'm alive to think about any of these things, and go about my life in a positive way. Currently my life is being led on the road, travelling from city to city to play music for people with my best friends in the world, listening to maybe the most amazing Talking Heads song called Once in A Lifetime. After the chorus there's the lyric... "same as it ever was... same as it ever was..." history is strange, the past is distorted, the future is totally unknown, and we live NOW in the moment if we are lucky.
